Scholarship Recipients

The Helen Hites Scholarship was announced on Saturday, November 9, 2013 during the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (Alpha Kappa Psi Chapter) 2012-2013 Induction Ceremony. Congratulations Ms. Malie Rachel K.K. Medeiros!.   We are pleased and to congratulate you  for receiving the scholarship name after our daughter Helen.  Your practical Nursing Kapiolani CC to properly reflect the provisions of the award. 

*** 2022-2023 Recipient ***


Congratulations Ms. Elizabeth Martinez!  Our family wants to congratulate you for receiving the scholarship name after our daughter Helen.  We realize the criteria for this award is tough but you certainly had all of the qualifications.  Good luck to you and your children with many blessings.  We have to tell you something special.  When we read your letter, we could have swore it was written by Helen.  You much be a fine person because she certainly was  Keep up the good work and may be her son Phoenix can meet you in the future and offer his congratulations.  Quotes from Elizabeth Martinez "I want to express my sincere gratitude for making the Helen Hites scholarship possible.  I have learned about my selection to be a recipient of this honor, and I sincerely appreciate your support. Congratulations Ms. Kyu Hynn Park! Last year was full of challenges as well as unique opportunities! Due to Covid, there has been no ceremony to honor the recipient but our family congratulate Kyu Hynn for her efforts. The Scholarship will continue and we hope to meet the awardee in the future. Although she had lived on the Earth for such a short period, she used her life as a gift from God to continue learning and exploring this world while contributing and giving back to the community just like an angel sent from God; she was a shooting star, brightening up the community and surrounding people's lives...your generosity means a lot, especially now my daughter and I are struggling and going through such a financially challenging time This scholarship is a shield not only for my current academic/career journey, but for my daughter's future as well...!  I deeply appreciate your support. Congratulations Ms. Sylvana Sam!  The Hites family is excited to announce that Sylvana was the recipient of the Helen Hites Endowment for Student Sucess.  Helen's son, Phoenix, and Helen's mother atteneded the Scholarship Mahalo Dinner on Nov. 8, 2018 at KCC.
